A hot, humid muggy night in Toronto and it was perfect me to get a long slow walk in mostly along Lake Ontario where it was a cooler.

The seeds for the Irises came from a very close friend in Chalmette, Louisiana who had sent us the seeds in mid August of 2005. Two weeks later Hurricane Katrina hit and she and her family lost everything and would not be able to return home. Once they settled into a new home we sent her back seeds and it is her one connection to her former home and life. Each year we also send her photos of the Irises in our garden.
